Join us at the charming Loring-Greenough House for an intimate afternoon of music for Winds and Guitar. We are thrilled to have our good friend and special guest guitarist Trevor Babb joining us again for a concert in this beautiful and historic setting.
Trevor and Alex will be performing selections from Robert Beaser's Moutain Songs, a set of pieces for flute and guitar drawn from the American folk music of Appalachia, and and arrangement of the old french christmas carol "Il est né, le divin enfant" to put everyone in the holiday spirit. The rest of the program, including a Sonata for clarinet and guitar and a Trio for flute, clarinet and guitar, are by a relatively obscure Austrian composer Ferdinand Rebay (1880-1953). Many of Rebay's manuscripts have only recently been re-discovered and published so we are excited to bring this rarely performed gem to our Boston audience.
